Nivala (formerly known asPidisjärvi)[5] is atown andmunicipality ofFinland. It is located in theNorthern Ostrobothniaregion. The town has a population of 10,380(31 December 2024)[2] and covers an area of 536.88 square kilometres (207.29 sq mi) ofwhich 8.92 km2 (3.44 sq mi)is water.[1] Thepopulation density is19.68 inhabitants per square kilometre (51.0/sq mi).
