Nitroxazepine (brand nameSintamil) is atricyclic antidepressant (TCA) which was introduced byCiba-Geigy (nowNovartis) for the treatment ofdepression inIndia in 1982.[1] It is also indicated for the treatment ofnocturnal enuresis.[1] Nitroxazepine acts as aserotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and has similar effects toimipramine, but with certain advantages, such as loweranticholinergicside effects.[2][3][4]
