Nimisha made her acting debut with the filmThondimuthalum Driksakshiyum directed byDileesh Pothan .[ 1] She won theKerala State Film Award for Best Actress in 2018 for her performance inOru Kuprasidha Payyan andChola .[ 2] She is also a recipient of threeFilmfare Awards.
Early and personal life [ edit ] Nimisha was born inMumbai ,Maharashtra , India to Late Sajayan Nair,[ 3] an engineer, and Bindhu Sajayan. Her mother's ancestral home is inPunalur , Kerala.[ 4]
She completed her schooling at Carmel Convent School, Mumbai and graduated from KJ Somaiya College, Mumbai.[ 5]
Nimisha started her acting career with the filmThondimuthalum Driksakshiyum , directed byDileesh Pothan .[ 6] She then played the lead role in editorB. Ajithk andRajeev Ravi 'sEeda .[ 7] [ 8] She won the49th Kerala State Film Award for Best actress in 2019 for the moviesOru Kuprasidha Payyan directed byMadhupal andChola directed bySanal Kumar Sasidharan .[ 9] Chola premiered at several international film festivals.[ 10]
In 2021, she acted inThe Great Indian Kitchen . The film as well as her performance were well received.[ 11] The same year, she played lead roles inNayattu andMalik . In 2022 she was a part ofOru Thekkan Thallu Case ,Innale Vare andHeaven . Her upcoming films areThuramukham andChera . She made herTamil debut throughA. L. Vijay's Mission: Chapter 1 - Achcham Enbathu Illaiyae film but her first release in Tamil wasChithha in 2023.
