Nidhhi Agerwal is an Indian actress who primarily works inTelugu,Tamil andHindi films. After participating inMiss Diva Universe 2014, Agerwal made her acting debut with the Hindi filmMunna Michael (2017), for which she receivedZee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.[1][2]

Agerwal made her Telugu debut withSavyasachi (2018) and Tamil debut withEeswaran (2021). For the former, she receivedSIIMA Award for Best Female Debut - Telugu nominations. She has been part of successful films includingiSmart Shankar (2019) andKalaga Thalaivan (2022).[3]

Early life

Agerwal was born inHyderabad and brought up inBangalore. Born into aHindi-speakingMarwari family, she can understand as well as speakTelugu,Tamil andKannada.[4] Her birth year is reported inconsistently either as 1992[5][1] or 1993.[6][7]

Her schooling was at Debipur Milan Vidyapith. She holds a graduation in Business Management fromChrist University, Bangalore.[8][9] She is well trained inballet.[10]

Career

In 2016, directorSabbir Khan confirmed that Agerwal was signed as the lead in his filmMunna Michael, alongsideTiger Shroff. She was chosen from among 300 candidates. Agerwal was also asked to sign ano-dating clause till completion of the film.[11] She made her acting debut with the film, which received mixed to negative reviews from critics.[12]

Agerwal made her Telugu film debut in 2018 alongsideNaga Chaitanya, with the filmSavyasachi. It did not perform well at the box-office.[citation needed] She had two releases in 2019.Mr. Majnu withAkhil Akkineni was unsuccessful at the box-office[13] whereasiSmart Shankar alongsideRam Pothineni was a commercial success running for more than 100 days at the box office.[14] The same year, Agerwal appeared in two music videos,Unglich Ring Daal De sung byJyotica Tangri andAAHO! Mittran Di Yes Hai withBadshah.

In 2021, she made her Tamil debut oppositeSilambarasan inEeswaran.[citation needed] The film received mixed reviews and was an average success. Her next film,Bhoomi withJayam Ravi released the same year. It received negative reviews.[15] She also appeared oppositeSonu Sood inAltaf Raja's recreation ofSaath Kya Nibhaoge song. In 2022, she appearedHero alongside debutant Ashok Galla. The film received mixed reviews from the critics and audiences as well.[16] She also appeared alongsideUdhayanidhi Stalin inMagizh Thirumeni's action-thriller filmKalaga Thalaivan, which received positive reviews from critics.[17]

She will next be seen as Panchami inKrish Jagarlamudi'sHari Hara Veera Mallu, that is scheduled to release in December 2024.[18][19]

Agerwal has featured various times onHyderabad Times Most Desirable Woman list. She ranked 11th in 2019,[20] and 8th in 2020.[21]

She is an active celebrity endorser for several brands. In 2019, she rejected a fairness cream endorsement.[22] Agerwal has also been part ofKalyan Jewellers multilingual ad.[23]
