Nicole Ellen Stratford (born 1 February 1989) is a New Zealandassociation footballer who plays as adefender forNorthern Lights and theNew Zealand women's national team.[2]

Career

Stratford was a member of theNew Zealand under-20 national team which participated at the2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Chile.[3]

In June 2019, Stratford received her first call-up to theNew Zealand women's national team for the2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France,[4] replacing the injuredMeikayla Moore.[5] Though unused in the World Cup, she made her international debut on 7 November 2019 againstChina in the2019 Yongchuan International Tournament, which finished as a 0–2 loss.[6] She made her second appearance three days later againstCanada.[7]

In 2019, Stratford joined German clubUSV Jena of theFrauen-Bundesliga on a one-year contract.[8]
