Nicolás Giacobone is an Argentine writer and screenwriter. He won theAcademy Award forBest Original Screenplay for the 2014 filmBirdman at the87th Academy Awards in 2015.[1] He wrote a book of short storiesAlgún Cristo (2001), and the novelsThe Crossed-Out Notebook (2018) andBum Bum Bum (2020).[2][3][4] His screenplay for the filmJohn and the Hole was part of the official selection of the2020 Cannes Film Festival and premiered at the2021 Sundance Film Festival.[5][6]
His maternal grandfather was film directorArmando Bó, his uncle is actorVíctor Bó, and his cousin is fellow screenwriterArmando Bó, with whom he won the Oscar.[7]
