Nico Parker (born 9 December 2004) is a British actress. The daughter of actressThandiwe Newton and filmmakerOl Parker, she made her film debut in a leading role in the fantasy filmDumbo (2019).[1] She playedSarah Miller in the first season of theHBO seriesThe Last of Us (2023) and Astrid Hofferson in the live-action fantasy filmHow to Train Your Dragon (2025).

Born inLondon, to film director and screenwriterOl Parker and actressThandiwe Newton, Parker is fromKensal Rise, North West London. She has an older sister,Ripley, and a younger brother, Booker.[2] Through her maternal grandmother, Nyasha, Parker claims descent from aZimbabwean line oftribal chiefs.[3]

Career

Nico Parker made her film debut as Milly Farrier in the 2019 filmDumbo, directed byTim Burton. Despite receiving mixed-to-negative critical reception for her performance, the role brought her widespread recognition.[4][5] She next starred alongsideNaomie Harris andJude Law in theHBO miniseriesThe Third Day (2020)[6] and appeared alongside her mother as Zoe in the science fiction filmReminiscence (2021).[7][8]

In 2023, Parker playedSarah Miller in the first episode of theHBO adaptation ofThe Last of Us.[9] Critics noted that the episode "benefits immeasurably from [her] endearing contribution".[10] Rachel Leishman in a review forThe Mary Sue called Parker's casting "brilliant" and said: "It’s such a good performance from Parker that matches the energy of Pascal's Joel in a way that I think many are going to be talking about Nico Parker's take on the character."[11] Parker was named a 2023 Bright Young Thing byTatler.[12]

In 2024, she appeared inSuncoast.[13][14][15] She won Breakthrough Performance Award at the2024 Sundance Film Festival.[16] In September 2024, Parker was announced as Lancôme's newest and youngest-ever Global Ambassador.[17]

In 2025, Parker appeared inBridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,[18] thelive-action remake ofHow to Train Your Dragon,[19] andPoetic License.[20]
