Nick Woodward (born November 29, 1979) is an American formerstock car racing driver. He competed in theNASCAR Busch Series andNASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He currently works as the graphics manager forRichard Childress Racing.[1]

Racing career

Woodward's racing career started at the age of eight, racinggo-karts and dwarf cars.[2] Woodward won threeVirginia state go-kart championships and one national go-kart championship.[3] He later raced both dirt and pavementlate models, running atHagerstown Speedway andOld Dominion Speedway.[4]In 2000, Woodward won five consecutivelate model races at Southampton Motor Speedway,[5] and won fourteen races on the season.[4] He also won five late model races atSouth Boston Speedway.[6] On the strength of that season, Woodward won the 2000 Atlantic Seaboard championship for the late model portion of theNASCAR Weekly Racing Series.[4]

Woodward made twoCraftsman Truck Series starts in 2001, both resulting in top-twenty finishes forLong Brothers Racing.[6]

In May 2002, Woodward made hisBusch Series debut atDover International Speedway, driving the No. 49 forJay Robinson Racing.[7] He also tested a Craftsman Truck forRoush Racing in 2002.[8]

Woodward returned to the Truck Series in 2003 for one more race with Long Brothers Racing.[6]

Personal life

Woodward is a graduate ofColonel Richardson High School andHigh Point University.[9] After his racing career ended, Woodward now works forRichard Childress Racing as the team's graphics manager. He is married.[10]
