
Niccolò Albergati-Ludovisi (15 September 1608 – 9 August 1687) was anItalianCatholicCardinal andArchbishop of Bologna.
He was a cousin of CardinalLudovico Ludovisi.[1]On 16 September 1640, he wasconsecrated bishop byGiovanni Battista Pamphilj,Cardinal-Priest ofSant'Eusebio withGiovanni Battista Rinuccini,Archbishop of Fermo, andLelio Falconieri,Titular Archbishop ofThebae, serving asco-consecrators.[1]
On 6 February 1645 he was appointedArchbishop of Bologna, and on 6 March 1645 he was elevated to cardinal byPope Innocent X. He served as Cardinal-Priest of theBasilica di Sant'Agostino and then theSanta Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri.
In 1650 he was appointedMajor Penitentiary, and in 1683 he was appointedDean of the College of Cardinals. He held both position until his death. Between 1658 and 1659 he served asCamerlengo of the Sacred College of Cardinals.
