Nexterday is the seventh and final studio album released by former lead singer and songwriter ofThe Cars,Ric Ocasek.
The album boasts a moreDIY sound than previous albums, having been partially recorded in Ocasek's home studio with him playing many of the instruments himself.[2] Musicians featured in his 1982 debut solo album,Beatitude were used onNexterday, including fellow Cars keyboardistGreg Hawkes, bassistDarryl Jenifer ofBad Brains, drummer/programmerStephen George and guitarist Roger Greenawalt.[3][4] "Silver" was Ocasek's musical tribute toBenjamin Orr. "Please Don't Let Me Down" references the title of the album,Nexterday.
