New York's 56th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in theNew York State Senate. It has been represented byDemocratJeremy Cooney since 2021, succeedingRepublicanJoseph Robach.[3]

Geography

District 56 is located entirely withinMonroe County inWestern New York, including much of westernRochester and its surrounding suburbs ofBrighton,Gates,Greece,Parma,Clarkson, andHamlin.[1][4]

The district overlaps with New York's25th congressional district and with the 134th, 136th, 137th, 138th, and 139th districts of theNew York State Assembly.[5]
