New York's 1st State Assembly district is one of the 150 districts in theNew York State Assembly. It has been represented by Democratic AssemblymanTommy John Schiavoni since 2025, succeedingFred Thiele.

District 1 is located entirely withinSuffolk County, comprising the eastern portion of the county. The district includes the towns ofShelter Island,East Hampton,Southold, and portions ofSouthampton andBrookhaven. The district includesThe Hamptons andMontauk.

The 1st district is entirely withinNew York's 1st congressional district, and overlaps the1st and3rd districts of theNew York State Senate.[3]
