Neuromedin S is a 36-amino acidneuropeptide found in the brain of humans and other mammals. It is produced in thesuprachiasmatic nucleus of thehypothalamus and is related toneuromedin U. It is thought to be involved in regulation ofcircadian rhythm and also hasappetite suppressant effects,[1][2][3][4][5] as well as regulating the release of several otherpeptide hormones includingvasopressin,[6]luteinizing hormone,[7] andoxytocin.[8]
