TheNepalese cricket team toured the Netherlands in August 2018 to play twoOne Day Internationals (ODIs) matches against theDutch cricket team.[1][2] They were the first ODI matches to be played by Nepal since they were awarded ODI status by theInternational Cricket Council (ICC) during the2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.[3][4][5] It was the first ODI series to be played in the Netherlandssince 2013, whenSouth Africa played a one-off match,[6] and the first ODI matches to be played by the Netherlands since the2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament.[7]

In July 2018, theKoninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) confirmed the venues for the two matches.[8][9] Later the same month, Nepal'sShakti Gauchan announced that he would be retiring from international cricket at the conclusion of the series.[10] He played in the first match of the series before retiring.[11]

The Netherlands won the first ODI by 55 runs, withMichael Rippon named the man of the match.[7] Along with Nepal's starting eleven all making their ODI debuts in the match, five players in the Netherlands' squad also made their debuts in the format.[7] Nepal won the second match by one run, to record their first win in ODIs, and therefore drawing the series 1–1.[12][13] Following the win, Nepal's captainParas Khadka said it felt great and that it "shows a lot of character within the team".[14]
