Neoevolutionism

Long-term directional social change

Neoevolutionism as asocial theory attempts to explain theevolution of societies by drawing onCharles Darwin'stheory of evolution while discarding some dogmas of the previous theories ofsocial evolutionism. Neoevolutionism is concerned with long-term,[1] evolutionarysocial change and with the regular patterns of development that may be seen in unrelated, widely separatedcultures.[2]
