Nennig is a village in theSaarland,Germany, part of the municipality ofPerl. It is situated on the riverMoselle, oppositeRemich,Luxembourg.
Nennig is known for aRoman villa containing well-preservedmosaics that were excavated in the 19th century. The village was acondominium of theTrier bishopric,Lorraine (theKingdom of France from 1766) andLuxembourg until its annexation byRevolutionary France in 1794. During theSecond World War Nennig was almost completely destroyed as the village changed hands several times in late-1944 and early-1945.
