TheNational Shrine and Parish of the Divine Mercy is aRoman Catholic church dedicated to theDivine Mercy inMarilao, Bulacan, thePhilippines. It is under the jurisdiction of theDiocese of Malolos. It was elevated to the status of National Shrine by ArchbishopOrlando Quevedo of theCatholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines. The firstMass was held at the site on February 2, 1992, theFeast of the Presentation.[1]Monsignor Ranilo Santos Trillana,PC,EV, was its Rector and parish priest until he succumbed toprostate cancer on September 11, 2024.[2][a]
The Guadalupe Chapel in the church’s basement has a replica of thetilmahtli bearingOur Lady of Guadalupe, near which is flowing water many pilgrims collect as they consider it miraculous.
Behind the church is aCalvary with life-sized statues of theStations of the Cross. Nearby are theRosary Hill; the Grotto ofOur Lady of Lourdes where people can pray for good health; and the Grotto of theResurrection.
The Saint Faustina Hall is an auditorium whereSunday Masses are also held to accommodate any overflow of pilgrims in the main church.
The Little Poland Museum has replicas of the house and basement where laterPope John Paul II lived; theVilnius convent chapel whereFaustina Kowalska had a vision of the Divine Mercy; and theAuschwitz prison cell whereMaximillian Kolbe wasmartyred in 1941.
