TheNational Consultative Assembly (Persian:مجلس شورای ملی,romanized: Majles-e showrā-ye mellī),[1] or simplyMajles, was the nationallegislative body ofIran from 1906 to 1979.
It was elected byuniversal suffrage, excluding the armed forces and convicted criminals but after 1963 including women, who could both vote and be elected.[1]
