GeneralNathaniel Stevenson (1840–1911) was aBritish Army officer who becameLieutenant Governor of Guernsey.
Stevenson wascommissioned as anensign in the1st Regiment of Foot in 1858.[1] In 1863 he was transferred to the87th Regiment of Foot.[2] He was appointed assistant adjutant and quartermaster-general for Cork District in 1880[3] and then, having served as Assistant-Adjutant and Quartermaster-General on the Staff, he was appointed Deputy Adjutant-General inIreland in 1884.[4] He was appointed General Officer CommandingNorthern District in 1889, General Officer CommandingNorth Eastern District later in the year andLieutenant Governor of Guernsey in 1894.[5] It was in that capacity that he went toWestminster Abbey in 1898 to attend former Prime MinisterGladstone's funeral.[6]
He was appointedColonel of theRoyal Inniskilling Fusiliers on 8 March 1902.[7]
