Nasiruddin Yousuff is a Bangladeshi stage and film director.[1] He wonBangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for the filmGuerrilla (2011). He was awardedEkushey Padak by theGovernment of Bangladesh in 2010 for his contribution to Bangladeshi theater.[2] He was a freedom fighter, an urban guerrilla fighter who fought for independence of Bangladesh.
Yousuff, along withSelim Al Deen, founded "Dhaka Theatre" in 1973 and later "Bangladesh Gram Theatre".[3][2][4] He is the organising secretary of Bangladesh Centre of International Theatre (BCITI). He served as the president and director of the Committee for Cultural Identity and Development (CIDC).[5]
Nasiruddin Yousuff passedMatriculation fromOld Dacca'sNawabpur Government High School in 1966. Yousuff is married to artistShimul Yousuf. Together they have a daughter Esha Yousuf.[6]
