Naloxonazine is a potent,irreversibleμ-opioid receptorantagonist.[1] Naloxonazine forms spontaneously in acidic solutions ofnaloxazone, and may be responsible for much or all of the irreversible μ opioid receptor binding displayed by the latter.[2]
