Nahéma Ricci, also known asNahéma Ricci-Sahabi,[1] (bornc. 1997[2]) is a Canadian actress.
Ricci was born inMontreal to immigrant parents, and is of French and Tunisian ancestry.[2]
She appeared in the 2017 filmAilleurs.[3] Ricci said she won the title role of the 2019 filmAntigone after participating in a long series of auditions held to fill all the film's roles.[4] InLa Presse,Marc-André Lussier [fr] praised Ricci's acting inAntigone.[5] She was named one of the "rising stars" at the2019 Toronto International Film Festival,[2][6] and won theCanadian Screen Award forBest Actress at the8th Canadian Screen Awards.[7] She also won thePrix Iris forRevelation of the Year at the22nd Quebec Cinema Awards.[8]
In 2020 she starred in the short filmGirls Shouldn't Walk Alone at Night (Les filles ne marchent pas seules la nuit).[9] In 2022, she portrayed Sophia in the filmMontreal Girls. Nahéma made her English language feature debut in 2022 portraying Alix, a troubled teenager, inUnder Spanish Skies, directed by Nathan Buck.[10] She took the lead role of Jen Paradis in television crime drama,Motel Paradis (2022).
In 2023, she joined the cast ofAller Simple.[11] In 2024 she starred in the filmHunting Daze (Jour de chasse).[12]
