Liberal Studies is a school in the Faculty of Arts and Science at theNew York University. It houses the Liberal Studies Core Program and the Global Liberal Studiesbachelor's degree program.[2] Both of the department's programs employ acore curriculum in theliberal arts and emphasizeglobal study in NYU's Global Network University framework.[3]
The Liberal Studies Core Program is a two-yearliberal arts academic program centered on thegreat books.[4] First-year students study at NYU's campuses inNew York City,London, Madrid, Washington D.C., orFlorence. After the second year, students transition to their chosen majors throughout NYU to complete their bachelor's degree.[3][5]
Global Liberal Studies is a four-yearbachelor's degree program.[2] First-year students study at NYU's campuses inNew York City,London, Madrid, andFlorence, before moving to New York City for the sophomore year. Third-year students are required to study at one of NYU's fourteen global academic centers.
