NS-2664 (LS-193,048) is ananxiolytic drug with a novel chemical structure, developed by the small pharmaceutical companyNeuroSearch. It has similar effects tobenzodiazepine drugs, but is structurally distinct and so is classed as anonbenzodiazepine anxiolytic. It has potentanticonvulsant effects in animal studies, but a relatively short duration of action, and produces littlesedative effects or physical dependence.[1]
