NGC 861 is aspiral galaxy in theconstellationTriangulum. It is estimated to be 360 millionlight-years from theMilky Way[3] and has adiameter of approximately 165,000 light-years. The object was discovered on September 18, 1865 byHeinrich d'Arrest.[4][5][6]
