NGC 813 is alenticular galaxy in theconstellationHydrus. It is estimated to be 390 millionlight-years from theMilky Way[3] and has adiameter of approximately 140,000 ly. NGC 813 was discovered on November 24, 1834, by the BritishastronomerJohn Herschel.[4][5]
Onesupernova, SN 2020abzv (type Ia, mag. 16.6), was discovered in NGC 813 on 9 December, 2020.[6]
