NGC 766 is anelliptical galaxy located in thePisces constellation about 362 millionlight years from theMilky Way. It was discovered by BritishastronomerJohn Herschel in 1828.[4][5][6]
Due to NGC 766 being situated close to thecelestial equator it is at least partly visible from bothhemispheres in certain times of the year.[7]
