NGC 606 is abarred spiral galaxy located in thePisces constellation about 470 millionlight-years[3] from theMilky Way. It was discovered by the FrenchastronomerÉdouard Stephan in 1881.[4][5]
Onesupernova has been observed in NGC 606:SN 2016fmt (Type II, mag. 17.8) was discovered by the Italian Supernovae Search Project (ISSP) on 28 August 2016.[6][7]
