NGC 5001 is abarred spiral galaxy located in the constellationUrsa Major. It is designated asSB in thegalaxy morphological classification scheme. It was discovered byJohn Herschel on 1 May 1831. It is at a distance of 130 millionparsecs from the Earth.[1][3]
