NGC 4781 is abarred spiral galaxy in the constellationVirgo. It was discovered byWilliam Herschel on Mar 25, 1786.[3] It is a member of theNGC 4699 Group of galaxies, which is a member of theVirgo II Groups, a series of galaxies andgalaxy clusters strung out from the southern edge of theVirgo Supercluster.[4]
