NGC 4614 is abarred lenticular galaxy in theNew General Catalog. It is located in the constellation ofComa Berenices. It was discovered in 1864 by theGerman astronomerHeinrich d'Arrest with a 11.9 inch (11 inch) diameter lens type telescope.[5]
Onesupernova, SN 2018ata (type Ia, mag. 20), was discovered in NGC 4614 on 10 April 2018.[6]
