NGC 4517 is aspiral galaxy located approximately 40 millionlight-years away in the constellation ofVirgo. It was discovered in 1784 byWilliam Herschel.[1] It is a member of theVirgo II Groups, a series of galaxies andgalaxy clusters strung out from the southern edge of theVirgo Supercluster.[3]
