NGC 4454 is abarred spiral galaxy[2] located about 123 millionlight-years away[3] in theconstellation ofVirgo.[4] NGC 4454 was discovered by astronomerWilliam Herschel on April 17, 1784.[5]
Onesupernova, SN 2020abgq (type Ia, mag. 16.3), was discovered in NGC 4454 on 30 November, 2020.[6]
