NGC 4014 also known asNGC 4028, is a type S0-a[2]lenticular galaxy in theComa Berenicesconstellation.[3][4] NGC 4014 is located 197 millionlight-years fromEarth.[1] The galaxy is situated close to thecelestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from bothhemispheres at certain times of the year.[5]
NGC 4014 was discovered byastronomerWilliam Herschel on December 30, 1783. But it was rediscovered on April 26, 1832, byJohn Herschel who listed NGC 4014 as NGC 4028.[6]
