NGC 1974 (also known asNGC 1991 andESO 85-SC89) is anopen cluster associated with anemission nebula which is located in the Dorado constellation which is part of theLarge Magellanic Cloud. It was discovered byJames Dunlop on November 6, 1826, and later observed byJohn Herschel on January 2, 1837, subsequently cataloged as NGC 1991.[4] Its apparent magnitude is 9.0[2] and its size is 1.7arc minutes.[3]
