NGC 1871 (also known asESO 56-SC85) is anopen cluster associated with anemission nebula located in theDorado constellation within theLarge Magellanic Cloud. It was discovered byJames Dunlop on November 5, 1826. Its apparent magnitude is 10.09, and its size is 2.0arc minutes.[2][3]
NGC 1871 is part of a triple association withNGC 1869 andNGC 1873.[3]
