n3D was an American3DTV channel that launched on July 1, 2010. It was sponsored byPanasonic and available exclusively onDirecTV. It was the world's first 24-hour 3DTV channel. Operations ended in 2013.[1]
Programming that aired includesTNT's broadcast ofNASCAR's2010 Coke Zero 400 on July 3; the local telecasts of theNew York Yankees-Seattle Mariners series on July 10–11; and the2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game (in conjunction withFox).[2] Other shows includeGuitar Center Sessions with artistsPeter Gabriel andJane's Addiction, plus such documentary fare asDinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia,Wild Safari: A South African Adventure andN Wave Picture'sS.O.S Planet,African Adventure: Safari in the Okavango,Encounter in the Third Dimension.[3]
Other new programming includes the new season of theHistory Channels seriesThe Universe[4] and the2010 US Open Tennis Tournament.[5] The channel will also show previously airedESPN 3D events. On Christmas 2010 the channel airedThe Prince's Trust Rock Gala 2010.[6]
On February 4, 2011, n3D premieredFormula Drift's "Round 7: Title Fight Event".[7] On February 5, 2011, n3D aired the Fifth Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl.[8] Since February 26, 2011, the channel has aired the new season ofGSN'sHigh Stakes Poker.[9] Starting March 26, 2011 n3D airedTreasure Houses of Britain, in conjunction withWNET.[10] A new show about surfing titledGone Until December debuted in summer 2011.[11]
