N-Desmethylapalutamide is anonsteroidal antiandrogen (NSAA) and the majoractive metabolite ofapalutamide, an NSAA which is used as ahormonal antineoplastic agent in the treatment ofmetastaticprostate cancer.[2][1] It has similar activity to that of apalutamide and, with apalutamide therapy, circulates at similar concentrations to those of apalutamide atsteady state.[1][failed verification]N-Desmethylapalutamide is formed from apalutamide in theliver by thecytochrome P450enzymesCYP2C8 andCYP3A4.[1]
