Myida (formerlyMyoida) is anorder of saltwater and freshwater clams,marine andfreshwaterbivalvemolluscs in the subclassHeterodonta. The order includes such bivalves assoft-shell clams,geoducks andshipworms.
They are burrowing molluscs with well-developedsiphons. The shell is relatively soft and lacks anacreous layer. Some species have a singlecardinal tooth.[1]
