"Must Be Nice" is a single released by the Canadian rock bandNickelback. It was released on June 2, 2017,[10] as the third single from their ninth studio albumFeed the Machine.[11][12]
While giving interviews promoting their previous single "Song on Fire" topop music radio stations throughout May 2017,[13] the band stated their next single will be much heavier as the new album Feed the Machine represents a return to a heavier, more aggressive sound compared to the band's traditional contemporary and mainstream sound.[14]
On June 2, 2017, "Must Be Nice" was announced to be the next single,[15] making it available via the band's officialYouTube channel the same day as well as the digital libraries of those who had already pre-orderedFeed the Machine,[16] and revealed it will be sent to rock radio stations on June 6, 2017, as the official third single from the new album.[17][18]
"Must Be Nice" is an upbeat, hard rock song that blends grittyguitar riffs with playful,tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Written entirely by lead singerChad Kroeger, it usesnursery rhyme references—like "Jack and Jill" and "Humpty Dumpty"—to craft a sarcastic narrative about carefree or reckless behavior. The track reflects the heavier, riff-driven sound heard throughout the entireFeed the Machine album compared to the more contemporary and pop sound in their previous recordNo Fixed Address.[19][20][21]
