MusicNL (also spelledMusic NL, previously known as theMusic Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, abbreviatedMIANL[1]) is atrade association for themusic industry for theCanadian province ofNewfoundland and Labrador.[2][3] The 2006 MusicNL awards were presented inStephenville.[4]Danny Williams, theprovince's premier, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2007 MusicNL awards gala.[5] In 2008, the MusicNL awards gala was held inGander.[6]
In 2011, the MusicNL awards were announced inSt. John's between October 24 and 30.[7] East of Empire was nominated for three awards, but didn't win either of them.[8] At the 2012 gala,indie pop quartet Repartee won the awards in all five of the categories for which it was nominated.[9] Tom Power, aCBC Radio host, introduced Repartee at the gala.[10]
