TheMuseu Frederic Marès[muˈzɛwfɾəðəˈɾiɡməˈɾɛs] is an art and sculpture museum in thePalau Reial Major inBarcelona, Spain.[1][2][3]
The Museu contains thousands of items from the collection of sculptor Frederic Marès.[1] Located near theBarcelona Cathedral, the museum collection includes statuary from pre-Roman times through to the first half of the Twentieth Century, with a particular emphasis on medievalChristian art, and a separate 'Collector's Cabinet' of artisan items such as fans and keys.
