TheMuseo dell'Opera del Duomo is an art museum inSiena, inTuscany in central Italy. It houses works of art and architectural fragments that were formerly in, or a part of, theDuomo of Siena (Siena Cathedral). These include a number ofItalian Gothic sculptures byGiovanni Pisano and his school from thefaçade of the cathedral; theMaestà ofDuccio di Boninsegna, which was the cathedral'saltarpiece in thecrossing beneath thedome from about 1311 until 1505[1]: 519 or 1506;[2]: 221 , works byAmbrogio andPietro Lorenzetti (14th ct.), as well asDonatello'sMadonna del Perdono (1457) There are also works moved to the museum from other churches in the area, such as theMadonna of Duccio brought from thePieve di Santa Cecilia [it] at Crevole in thecomune ofMurlo.[1]: 519
