Munday Island is a smallisland that lies betweenPort Davey, anoceanic inlet, andBathurst Channel, located in thesouth west region ofTasmania, Australia.[1] The island is contained with theSouthwest National Park, part of theTasmanian WildernessWorld Heritage Site[2] and the Port Davey/Bathurst Harbour Marine Nature Reserve.[3]
Part of theBreaksea Islands Group, Munday Island is also part of thePort Davey Islands Important Bird Area, so identified byBirdLife International because of its importance for breeding seabirds.[4][5] The island's vegetation is dominated by thickMelaleuca scrub.Forest ravens have been recorded as breeding on the island.[2]
