Therufous-tailed babbler (Moupinia poecilotis) is abirdspecies in thefamilyParadoxornithidae. As with many other species known as "babblers", it was formerly placed in the familySylviidae. It isendemic to central China.
The genusMoupinia was introduced by the French ornithologistsArmand David andÉmile Oustalet in 1877.[2]
