Mount Suisho (水晶岳,Suishō-dake; lit. "Mount Crystal"), also known asKurodake orMount Kuro (黒岳,Kuro-dake; lit. "Black Mountain"), is a mountain in the southeastern area ofToyama Prefecture,Japan. It is designated as one of the100 Famous Japanese Mountains.[2]
Mount Suisho is the highest mountain in theToyama andKurobe River area. It is the 23rd highest mountain in Japan.[3]
It is named "Mount Suisho" (crystal mountain) after the large crystals that have come from the mountain. As the mountain looks black, it is also named "Mount Kuro" or "Black Mountain".[4]
