
Mount Austin Barracks was aBritish Army base inHong Kong duringBritish rule. It was acquired in 1897 and developed from the formerMount Austin Hotel. It is named afterJohn Gardiner Austin, former Hong KongColonial Secretary. It was located near thePeak Tram terminus atVictoria Peak.
The base consisted of a series of multi-storey buildings on a hill. Damaged during World War II, it was later demolished.
