Mouez Hassen (Arabic:مُعِزّ حَسَن; born 5 March 1995) is a professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forTunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 sideClub Africain. Born in France, he plays for theTunisia national team.
Hassen was born inFréjus, Var.[4]
Hassen made hisLigue 1 debut on 25 September 2013 in a 2–0 away defeat againstFC Nantes.[citation needed]
On 31 January 2017, Hassen signed a five-month loan deal withSouthampton, where he was re-united with his former manager,Claude Puel,[5][6] although he made no appearances for the club.[citation needed]
Hassen joinedChâteauroux on loan on 9 July 2017.[7][8]
On 1 November 2019, Hassen signed a one-season contract with a one-season extension option withBelgian First Division A clubCercle Brugge.[9]
On 9 September 2021 he joined Tunisian clubClub Africain.[10]
Hassen made his debut forTunisia keeping a clean sheet in an international friendly againstCosta Rica on 27 March 2018 at theAllianz Riviera in Nice.[11]
In June 2018, it was revealed that Hassen had faked being injured during two internationalfriendly matches againstPortugal andTurkey to allow teammates to eat food mid-game and break their fast during the month ofRamadan.[12]
In June 2018, he was named in Tunisia's 23-mansquad for the2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.[13]
