Motorola Krzr K1 (styledKRZR (pronounced "crazer"/ˈkreɪzər/[1]), also marketed asMotokrzr K1) is aclamshellmobile phone developed and marketed byMotorola. The Krzr K1 was announced on 1 July 2006 with a design that is longer but narrower than theMotorola Razr V3. During development, it was codenamed "Canary" and had earlier been named Razr K1.[2]
The K1 used the motosync system tosynchronizecontacts and thecalendar with the touch of a button. It also used the Push-To-View system for sharing of images in real-time. The phone included stylized features such as aglossy glass finish. It has a smaller sized display compared to Razr due to the different physical body.
AGSM/EDGE model was released byAT&T,Rogers Wireless,T-Mobile,SunCom Wireless andCincinnati Bell Wireless, and aCDMA 1x/EV-DO model was released byPocket Communications,Verizon Wireless,Sprint,US Cellular,Alltel,Virgin Mobile Canada andBoost Mobile as Krzr K1m. An updated successor,Krzr K3, was released in 2007 which is also3G.[3]
The K1m is theCDMA version of the K1. The main difference between the two is that the K1m has touch music controls on the flip cover, a 1.3megapixel camera, supports a microSD memory card up to 1 GB, but does not have stereo Bluetooth headphone (A2DP) capabilities, whereas, the K1 doesn't have the touch music controls, but has a better, 2.0megapixel camera, supports a MicroSD card up to a higher 2 GB, and isA2DP capable.
A second Krzr phone was launched in February 2007, the Motorola K3, which notably is also3G-capable. It has a redesigned keypad, an improved display, a front camera, and increases internal memory.[3]
