Moses Leo (born 11 August 1997) is aNew Zealandrugby league footballer who plays for theMelbourne Storm in theNational Rugby League (NRL).

He formerly played professionalrugby union forNational Provincial Championship clubNorth Harbour and theNew Zealand national sevens team.

International career

Leo was named in theAll Blacks Sevens squad for the2022 Commonwealth Games inBirmingham.[1][2] He won a bronze medal at the event.[3][4] He made the squad for theRugby World Cup Sevens inCape Town and won a silver medal after his side lost toFiji in the gold medal final.[5][6][7][8][9]

In 2024, he representedNew Zealand at theParis Olympics.[10][11]

Rugby league career

On 20 September 2024, it was announced Leo had signed a two-year contract with NRL side Melbourne Storm from 2026 onward.[12] On 19 November 2024, it was announced New Zealand Rugby had granted Leo an early release from his contract, and the Storm announced his contract would now commence in 2025.[13]

Leo made his senior rugby league debut playing atcentre for theNorth Sydney Bears (who are affiliated with the Melbourne Storm) in aNSW Cup match against theSt George Illawarra Dragons on 29 March 2025. Mose Leo Is also a uncle to ponsoby junior star Lachlan Murphy Phillip Wong. He was a surprise selection for the Storm a week later, making his NRL debut for Melbourne in their 48–24 win over theManly Warringah Sea Eagles at4 Pines Park.[14]
